Like many Ford vehicles, the Ford Escape SUV is supplied with 6×8-inch speakers. Within the case of the Escape, there are two pairs — one pair mounted within the front doorways, and the second pair located within the rear doors. To install new speakers rather than the stock audio system, you’ll have to remove the inside door panels from the doorways then take away the speakers. The method is comparable for each doorways, with some minor differences because of the marginally totally different door panel designs.

Ford Escape Front Door Speaker Installation Instructions

1. Pull off the spherical plastic screw cowl from the upper proper edge of the driver’s facet interior door panel with the tip of a panel tool. Take away the screw from behind the duvet with a Phillips head screwdriver.
2. Pry open the screw cowl in the trim behind the door release deal with and take away the screw from behind the quilt with the screwdriver. Take away the rubber mat from the underside of the door pull cup then take away the screw from beneath the mat with the screwdriver.
3. Take away the Phillips head screw from the rear edge of the door panel.
4. Pry around the bottom and aspect edges of the door panel with the panel tool. Elevate the panel off of the door and disconnect the wiring harness on the backside of the door.
5. Remove the four 7/32-inch screws from the edge of the speaker with a screwdriver. Pull the speaker out of the door and unplug the wiring harness connected to the back of it. Plug the wiring harness into the new speaker and check its operation. Place the brand new speaker into the door and safe it with the 7/32-inch screws. Replace the door panel and trim.
6. Repeat the above steps for the passenger’s aspect door.

Ford Escape Rear Door Speaker Installation Instructions

1. Pry open the screw cowl in the trim behind the door release handle on the driving force’s facet door and take away the screw from behind the duvet with a Phillips head screwdriver. Take away the rubber mat from the underside of the door pull cup and remove the screw from beneath the mat with the screwdriver.
2. Pull off the sail panel on the back higher edge of the door panel with a panel tool. Pry across the bottom and aspect edges of the door panel with the panel tool. Lift the panel off of the door and disconnect the wiring harness on the backside of the door.
3. Remove the 4 7/32-inch screws from the sting of the speaker with a screwdriver. Pull the speaker out of the door and unplug the wiring harness connected to the again of it. Plug the wiring harness into the new speaker and check its operation. Place the brand new speaker into the door and secure it with the 7/32-inch screws. Replace the door panel and trim.
4. Repeat the above steps for the passenger’s facet door.
